It sounds crazy but it's true! And I’ve learned this lesson the hard way.. .
The truth is I shouldn’t be sitting here writing this to you.
The fact that I am reminds me just how lucky I am to be alive.
You see, in 2006 I was in the Marine Corps as a machine gunner.
I manned the machine gun turret on those big Humvee trucks you see in the movies.

You see, in 2006 I was in the Marine Corps as a machine gunner.
I manned the machine gun turret on those big Humvee trucks you see in the movies.
I was on a routine training exercise and was involved in a vehicle rollover accident.
I was thrown from the vehicle, but it struck me as it flipped and I was pinned to the ground and in a world of hurt.
When the dust settled I remember looking up at the sky as I was loaded onto the medical rescue helicopter.
The doctors told me I had fractured my pelvis, severed my femoral artery, and had compartment syndrome among
other injuries.
It could have been worse, but to say I was pretty banged up would be an understatement.
I underwent dozens of surgeries and didn't have full function in my legs.
I was stiff everywhere, it hurt to move and I was forced to use assistive devices just to get up and go anywhere.
Depression, anxiety, anger, frustration, and fear clouded my mind as I worried about a life filled with pain.
Then, after months of therapy, pain killers, and dozens of other treatments that just didn’t work -
I finally said enough!
I wasn’t myself. I wasn’t friendly. I wasn’t happy, and I just felt miserable all the time.
So Instead of spending the rest of my days on pain killers and “managing” the pain…
I decided I was going to learn everything I could about how to fix my body...
and get back to who I was before the accident
I studied kinesiology at the University Of
Illinois which taught me all about how
the body works.
Next I got my doctorate in Physical
Therapy from Northwestern University so
I could learn how to fix it!
Today I’m a certified Doctor of Physical
Therapy, licensed in the state of Illinois.
And I’m a Certified Therapeutic Pain
Specialist, as well as certified Strength
and Conditioning Specialist.
I studied kinesiology at the University Of Illinois which taught me all about how the body works.
Next I got my doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University so I could learn how to fix it!
Today I’m a certified Doctor of Physical Therapy, licensed in the state of Illinois.
And I’m a Certified Therapeutic Pain Specialist, as well as certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I used what I learned in school about the human body and how pain works…
Plus the commitment and dedication I learned during my time in the military…
And turn that into a career that helped me get myself out of pain.
Now I dedicate my time to helping my patients do the same, so they can get back to living life on their own terms.
